There's something just so romantic and domestic about Geode to me... Geo having to take care of his kids on his own, and then the universe literally drops the coolest, baddest husband he could ever imagine right on his doorstep one day. He's the dude who helped resolve the Geckle/Munce conflict that led to Geo being unwanted in the first place. He's the son of Lilly, whom Geo would've heard stories about.

And I love how Cole could've easily just moved on, because he needs to find his fellow ninja for like. The greater good or whatever. But he can't just leave anyone behind, especially people who are forgotten for whatever 'justifications' are offered. That's why Cole's a hero, because no innocent lives are acceptable as sacrifices. He's a bleeding heart who cares too much to look past it, he promised his mother to stand up to those who are cruel and unjust, for those who are hurt and downtrodden. He will always consider the little guy.

Just imagine Cole making that decision, announcing it to the finders that he's going to stay. Imagine Geo's reaction. Imagine Geo not letting himself get too attached at first because he'll be gone, and then he hangs around after all. Cole didn't know how long he'd be here but ninja never quit, as long as there's people in danger he owes it to them to help, even if it kills him.

The domestic vibes of them looking after the kids together, watching them, coordinating the family. The fact that the land of lost things always has this perpetual romantic sunset going on. It's just them, their kids, and this rampaging death machine that is technically the reason they got together in the first place, because without it Cole might've continued with his journey.

And you think Geo was just a little bit worried when it was 'over', when Sora and Nya helped to resolve that issue. Cole had no more reason to stay and protect them, plus he even has a new call to action from his old master! Back to being a hero, back to the times before them. At least there's no rampaging death machine anymore, and Geo chides himself for being selfish, he should be grateful his kids are safe and Cole is reunited with his REAL family...

AND THEN HE COMES BACK!!! COLE COMES BACK AND REMEMBERS!!! He knows what it's like to be lost and forgotten, or at least feel that way, so he'll never forget.

Man, out of all of the ninja who got scattered in the Merge, Cole's whereabouts feel the most satisfying and fleshed out, the way they tie back to his character arc and themes and motifs, his past, everything. Zane was in The Egg, Jay was with the Administration (which IS interesting but also a new development), Kai and Nya had their own things and Lloyd struggled to be the lone ninja, which is also fitting. But with Cole, it just feels all so right and even a way to end off his character's decade-plus arc, I love it. You can tell the writers really care about Cole.

“okay baby, close your eyes,” you say to his sitting form on the bed whilst peaking from behind his door. you had called him before arriving at the dorm saying you had a surprise for him, and now here you two were.

he closes his eyes and gives a nervous laugh. “should I be scared right now?”

“maybe!” you tease, giggling while you make your way into the room. “okay. now pucker your lips��”

he makes an unsure face but does it anyway, knowing you wouldn’t do anything to hurt him.

you slowly bring your face closer to his and softly kiss his lips. the ring hugging your lip feels cold as it presses between the two of you.

he audibly gasps at the feeling of something that’s not usually there when he kisses you. pulling away, he takes your jaw and pulls you back so he can get a good look at your piercing.

“baby! is this real?!” you weren’t sure how he would react, but he didn’t seem like he disliked it, at least.

running your tongue over it, you giggle, “yes, silly! it’s not a prank.”

"what do you think about me getting my belly pierced?" you ask him randomly one day, just chilling in his room. he instantly perks up at this, looking up from his phone and looking at you excitedly. you swear you could see his tail wagging behind him.

"baby. i would probably come in my pants." you have never seen him this serious about something... ever.

so, this is how you're here at the piercer/tattoo shop. clenching jake's fist in a death grip, as you lie down on the table.

"i feel so vulnerable right now," you say looking up at him, giggling nervously.

"it's okay, i'm here doll." needless to say, he's not very happy that the piercer is a guy and touchin' on his girl's navel (albeit professionally), but he only glares a few times before focusing on you.

“okay deep breath. 1, 2, 3- and you’re done!” the piercer is already expertly securing the jewelry in place when you realize it’s over.

“oh ouchie- you okay baby girl?” you see Jake’s worried face and notice it’s drained of color. he helps you sit up, and your breath hitches at the subtle pain as your torso moves and the sight of the pretty jewelry in the mirror.

“wow, i love it! i didn’t even feel it!” you say excitedly, admiring your new piercing in the mirror.

the grip jake had on your hand slowly loosens, and you look back to see him almost collapsing onto the piercing bench, looking like he just saw a ghost.

“holy shit, babe. you look so hot”- he says faintly, taking a shaky breath, “but i shouldn’t have watched.”

“should i be expecting to pass out from the pain?” you ask him in the car as he drives to the location. your hands fiddled with a random straw wrapper, trying to keep yourself from being too nervous.

“stop looking at pain levels on reddit,” he jokingly scolds you. “you’re just gonna freak yourself out, doll.”

“what if i pee myself or like throw up on the piercer??” you knew you wouldn’t actually, but thinking of the worst case scenarios always takes the edge off.

he laughs at you and pats your leg gently. “if you do, i’m getting it on video.”

for the rest of the ride he placates your whines of worry with loud singing to “highway to hell” by ac/dc… quickly, you regret coming.

the piercer turned out to be a really cool-looking 20-something girl who smelled like weed and strawberries (you digged it). safe to say, you were in good hands, and your nerves calmed down as you all joked with each other.

“alright so, it could bleed a little so i’m just gonna put this cloth over your shirt,” she starts getting the equipment ready, “remember deep breaths and 1,2,3!”

it took every bit of two seconds to get the needle through since the cartilage is so thick, and the whole time you’re squeezing the life out of jay’s hand.

“that’s my tough girl! hurts real good right?” and goddamn, it hurt worse than you thought.

“fuck jay, why’d you put me through that,” you joke to him, letting out your breath.

the mirror is handed to you as she finishes putting the back on, and your eyes light up at the new addition. it looks actually so cute.

“yea, hurts like a bitch,” she starts, “you want me to snap a picture for you two?”

you both nod eagerly and thank her for the piercing and the picture of your two ears side-by-side. the matching jewelry was a perfect idea.

“my little mini-me looks so cute,” he coos, kissing your cheek as you both leave the shop.

for your outfit, you landed on low-waisted fold-over leggings and a slightly cropped shirt. this way, you could be comfortable just going to his dorm but also feel confident he would pay extra attention to your figure.

“so i was thinking we could just play smash bros and whoever loses has to make ramen or we could up the stakes”- there’s an audible pause in his explanation as you both walk to his room. he’s catching you by your hips before you’ve even made it through the door.

With a two-season pickup, Ghosts will be on the air for years to come, which means ample opportunities to continue learning about Sasappis.

Lucky for us, as the series winds down its season, we will see much more from Sass, something that Zaragoza is extremely excited about.

We chatted with Zaragoza about his appreciation for the series’ wonderful fans, which things about Sass he’d love to see more of, and what ghost power he’d love to have for a day.

Hi, Román. How are you?

I’m good. Yeah, we are in hiatus mode. Life is very different right now. I’m currently in Tokyo, Japan, and yeah, life is so funny to think about.

Talking about Ghosts, I’m like, “Oh, right, yeah. What happened in that episode? Oh, that’s right. Yeah, that happened. Okay, cool.”Yeah, but it’s exciting. I’m very grateful to be in this position in this show and two more seasons. I’m feeling very good.

That was the first thing I wanted to say. I wanted to congratulate you on that. Ghosts is as popular as ever at this point. How appreciative are you of the series and the fans for continuing to make it such a success?

It’s been wild to see that Ghosts is now on Netflix in various countries around the world. It’s in so many different languages, and that’s been a really wild and recent new development. And I’m like, “Oh, Portuguese!” There’s so much Portuguese in my DMs now that I have to translate everything. But I’m like, “Oh, the people are so nice.”

So, that’s been cool. And I’m even getting spam in Portuguese, which is pretty funny. It’s been really cool and just wild to think about how wide of an audience and how big of a reach we’re now having. It’s beautiful.

Isn’t that such a cool thing with social media? And even with the fact that there are so many different ways to see things now, you can touch so many parts of the world and people that, 20 years ago, may have never gotten a chance to see the show.

Exactly. I just started listening to the How I Met Your Mother Rewatch podcast with Josh Radnor. It’s one of my favorite shows. I grew up with it and always dreamed about honestly being on a sitcom, like an ensemble sitcom.

I’ve traveled abroad a bit and been recognized, but always by Americans traveling abroad. It’s going to be interesting if I go to Brazil or something, and I’m curious to see if people recognize me and if people watch the show.

We are now four seasons in, and we’ve learned a lot about Sass at this point. But what do you feel you learned about him this season that maybe you didn’t know about him before?

Oh, man. This season is a big one for Sass, especially this later part of the season that we will be coming into. We’re going to find out a lot about him. But that’s a good question.

I think we’re seeing how strong-willed he is and how when he wants something, he is going to fight for it. We hadn’t seen too much of that for him. We’ve seen the mischievous side, the hopeless romantic side, and him dipping his toe into different areas of things that bring him joy. But we haven’t seen him fight for anything too much.

On the flip side of that, what have you learned about yourself over the past few years playing Sass? And also being a part of such a successful and long-running series?

Ooh. One of the biggest things I’ve learned from playing Sass is the space he takes up. At first, especially as an actor, when we started the show, the writers were trying to experiment with Sasappis.

They didn’t know where they wanted him to go very much. They had a general idea of what we wanted, but they didn’t know exactly what direction he would take.

And we ended up finding the space he takes up, he’s not the loud person. He’s not Thor, he’s not Trevor, he’s not that much bigger, larger-than-life, he’s not Hetty. He’s commenting on everybody else, and he is an observer and doesn’t need to be the loudest one in the room. And yet, he’s seen in a way.

But there’s something about him that he can kind of just be in the back a little bit and be like, “Mm, okay.” I don’t know. I feel like I learned if everyone’s being loud in the room, I don’t also need to be loud in the room. That space is already being taken up. I can take up this space over here.

That equated to when I booked the show. I was very nervous and intimidated by the incredible improv and comedic actors I was working with. They’re freaking veterans of comedy, and I did comedy, but I also did a lot of theater and drama.

So, I found myself pulling back a bit, being the observer, and kind of becoming Sass in a way when we were creating the show as the actor-performer.

It was interesting how art imitated life for a bit and still does. And I think the more that I became more comfortable in this space, the more we’ve seen Sass become more comfortable in this space, too. So, it’s been a cool parallel journey.

I love that, I love that.

I think there are two different things there. It’s what he’s looking for versus what he needs. I think what he’s looking for is someone who sees him and makes him feel safe in this. But he has this idea of what the perfect person is, which in his eyes is Shiki.

He’s like, “She’s the perfect person.” Even though we’ve never had a deep conversation, she’s perfect.

I think that’s what he thinks he needs when, in reality, he needs a strong person who’s going to pursue him, love him, choose him, and also be very intelligent. He is a very intelligent person and doesn’t give himself credit enough for that, and he needs someone to challenge him intellectually. And someone funny?

I don’t know. But I think someone strong. He needs a strong person to come into his life to sweep him off his feet and for him to be like, “Oh, oh. Okay, cool. I don’t need to be pining over someone for 500 years who just said hello to me 13 times.”

Yeah, exactly. I think he’s the kind of person who’s a little coy and shy, and it’s so new for him, and he’s a virgin, and he doesn’t know how to maybe take those first steps into a relationship. So, he needs someone to be like, “I like you. Okay? We’re doing this.” And he’s like, “Oh, okay. Sure.”

Exactly. I like that.

Sass, for many of the reasons you’ve mentioned, is such a fan favorite, right? I like it when you describe him as a little judgmental. Some say judgmental, some say real. What do you think it is that people connect with as it relates to him? Is it some of that realness and that bluntness?

Yeah, I definitely think it’s the realness, bluntness. And he’s that voice of reason, that voice of the audience sometimes.

I think people really relate to that. And yeah, he’s a reminder that we all feel alone and out of place, and we all sometimes use judgment and sarcasm to connect. And I think that is what he used for so long because he didn’t have his family or his friends to connect.

So, he found that was the space he was going to take up now.

He’s like, “I’m hanging out with mostly white people.” They were not directly part of the genocide and erasure of his people, but to an extent, he felt so alone for so long that he found this space where maybe he was trying to connect with them.

I’m trying to explain this in a succinct way, but I think sometimes people use judgment and sarcasm as a way to connect, as a way in, even though there is so much hurt behind it.

No, and that’s part of why he’s relatable: Many people relate to that in their lives.

With more seasons on the horizon, what’s something about Sass that you feel is untapped? Something that you feel like you wouldn’t mind seeing explored more in future seasons?

Great question. First and foremost, it would be fun to just dive into his death. I want to know more about that. I’m so curious.

The biggest thing that the cast always talks about is diving deeper into the relationships between the ghosts. It’s always so fun. This season was the first time Flower and Sass had interactions like one-on-one interactions.

I was curious how Sass learned English. That was something I was always really interested in. I was first pitching that he learned with Hetty as she was learning English when she was a baby. He learned English with her.

Of course, I think we’re past that, and we technically can’t do that anymore. But it’d be funny to find a character that he did that with. He would be sitting next to all these little two-year-olds, and they’re all learning English, and he’s just sitting there, and he’d like, “The… Dog.” I think that would be really cute.

It would be.

What’s been your favorite episode this season? If it hasn’t aired yet, then obviously no spoilers. But what’s been your favorite episode?

And that one was so fun to watch because Brandon Scott Jones is just a genius, and all the actors in that episode were so funny. Like Alexander Hamilton (Nat Faxon), he is so talented. What an incredible actor. Watching him work, I was taking notes and saying, “Wow, he’s so good.” It was amazing.

So, that one as a viewer and also watching the episode was just amazing. That one, as a viewer, was one of my favorites.

And then personally, as an actor, these next two that are airing— I’m going to combine them together.

These next two that are airing were very, very fun for me. I wish I could talk more about them now, but I can’t. But they’re really exciting for Sass, especially regarding love. I really want to talk about it, but it’s a really fun storyline, and it was very rewarding and exciting as an actor.

He's asked you countless times to use it just so he can see (or I guess... not see??)

He knows it makes you tired, but he just really loves fangirling over how cool it is

Sometimes he'll just pop a question about your powers randomly, even if it's totally off topic

"Can you see yourself in the mirror when you're invisible? Like, obviously I can't, but can you?"

"Wha—we're making dinner plans right now..."

He has absolutely roped you into countless pranks and schemes

You're the perfect partner in crime, and he takes full advantage of this

Sometimes he gets too excited though, and he'll forget that you get tuckered out

Whenever you pass out while invisible, he freaks out

He can't see you, he can't hear you, he has no idea what's happened to you

He'll just start waving his hands around, hoping to bump into you while he apologizes over and over (if it was because he was asking you to use his powers)

When he finds you, and when you come to, he apologizes yet again

He swears he'll never let it happen again

Then he's back the next day with another scheme or a plead for you to "do your thing"

He has a more quiet admiration for your powers

He does think they're amazing, but he doesn't push you around or ask for demonstrations like Jay does

He just takes what he can get; saving the oohs and aahs for when you actually use it in battle

He knows it tires you out, so he doesn't want to push you to use it when you don't have to

Whenever you do use it, he makes sure to tell you how cool you are

"Have ever I told you how cool you are?"

"Yes, actually."

"Oh. Well I'm telling you again!"

He tries to remind you not to push yourself

The worry he feels when you're unconscious and invisible is a driving factor for this

He really hates that brief moment of panic when he can't find you, especially when you're mid-mission

Whenever you end up pushing yourself too hard, he's always ready to take care of you (once he can locate you, I mean)

He'll carry you if he needs to, quickly delivering you to safety

And ofc snack time is a must, you need to replenish your energy!

He'll whip up the most fiendish yet tasty snacks you can imagine

They're weird, but very filling and nutrient-rich

Like, one time he made you just. a bowl of peanut butter. (with chocolate chips and strawberries and bananas on top)

Protein I guess?

In any case, you'll both feel better if you cuddle while you eat up :)

He loves to help you get creative with your powers

Especially when it means he gets to show off, too

He thinks your power is super cool, and he wants to see just how cool it can get

He'll push you pretty hard while training, trying to unlock new little tricks and strategies

He does this because he wants you to be the strongest you can be, but also to build up some endurance

He'd hate for you to get tired and pass out mid-battle, so he does everything he can to prevent that

As much as he loves you using your powers in battle, he also knows to be conscious of your energy levels

He'll remind you to cut back a little when he starts to get worried

If you do end up passing out in battle, he totally blames himself

After all he did to protect you—the training, the reminders, watching you carefully—he just feels like he failed you

He'll be completely bummed out by the time you come to again, and he'll apologize sincerely

From then on he'll just keep pushing you harder during training and being gentler on you in battle

It's quite contradictory, but he'd prefer you to pass out in the dojo if you're going to pass out at all

He'll insist on inserting himself in your fights so that you don't have to use your powers, and when you do use your powers he keeps close tabs on you by asking where you are frequently

(Which isn't always helpful, especially when you're trying to go unnoticed)

fuck it. list of project runway winners & who i thought should have won their season as i've rewatched most of the seasons recently:

really tough because Jay and Kara Saun both did amazing collections & equally could have won, but Jay's win was valid. more unique & one of the best in the whole series. stands up to time.

I didn't like Chloe Dao's collection or style but Santino didn't deserve to be there & Daniel V's wasn't great. default win. fine.

conflicted. I liked Jeffery's designs but I loved Uli's aesthetic more. i think she should have won. But it came down to commercial appeal vs. high fashion runway & the judges typically go w high fashion.

christian siriano deserves everything hands down. love that guy. this season aired when i was in high school & me and my wannabe fashion girlie friends literally made and wore various TEAM FIERCE tshirts to school during his season. we were obsessed. we were cringe but free.

one of the worst seasons. Leanne deserved it but it was a bad season overall so don't feel too proud girl.

another bad season. this was the LA season which was lame as hell. irina's win was deserved but the whole season was a snoozefest. i hated every single thing every single designer put down the runway for the finale. ugh.

seth aaron deserved the win based on the other two collections being horseshit. the fashion of his was good but i don't dig his inspiration if you know the misstep there. i like him but, dude...

i change my mind constantly over Gretchen & Mondo but today I'm saying Gretchen did deserve it. really hard.

viktor luna was robbed, anya annoys me immensely. i would even have taken josh over her. uninspired. they went for personal story over actual fashion tbh.

my favorite final 4 ever. dmitry, christopher, melissa, fabio. i would have accepted a fabio win but dmitry deserved it. he's one of my fave contestants ever. christopher had the cooler idea of the bunch but his construction was a little ehhhh.

loved loved loved patricia & any other season i would have been outraged... but michelle. everything she made the whole season i wanted & her finale collection fashion-wise is my favorite from the whole series. if i was rich i'd want her to design all my clothes.

dom deserved it. not a super exciting season tho.

it's not that i didn't like sean kelly but this was a typical high fashion vs. commercial situation & Amanda Valentine is one of my all time faves on the show and her collection is just more my taste. sean's was great for a runway moment but i would have loved to see Amanda win. if amanda wasn't there, diff opinion.

kelly from the deliiiiii biggest upset of all time SHE WAS FUCKING ROBBED. every critique about ashley has been said. tim gunn irritates me to no end but HE WAS RIGHT to trash her. her stuff was so fucking ugly and so poorly made if you look at actual photos of it. undeserved. kelly dempsey is the true winner in my heart, an actual innovator.

erin was the only one who deserved it this season. laurence is a great designer but she wasn't really versatile or interesting. erin was fucking weird and creative always. many hated her but her stuff was super different. she's actually cool.

not saying kentaro didn't deserve it - but a classic high fashion win because of course it is. the runway in project runway typically wins over others. i think brandon had the coolest clothes but yeah, too samey. i still prefer him as the winner because his stuff was unique and high fashion but also something people would actually buy. conflicted. kentaro did deserve it, but part of me is weary over that style of fashion being the default when it comes to what's uplifted. funny because him & brandon became super close but i wish they'd been on different seasons as to not compete against each other.

HESTER SHOULD HAVE WON HER COLLECTION WAS THE COOLEST THING EVER DONE ON THE SHOW AFTER MICHELLE. SORRY.

a really solid final 4. Geoffrey is one of my all time fave contestants & I wouldn't have chosen or accepted anything else w his collection up there. it was amazing. so deserving. i loved Sergio's gowns but he was soooooooo fucking insufferable there was no way he should have won that to reward his annoying ass self. Nancy is my queen but not a winner, but if Geoffrey wasn't there i'd have wanted her to win on principle even if Sergio's clothes were more impressive technically.

I think the Peter/Harry relationship would work best if Kai was Peter— I just think that would be the most tragic— but I dunno, I’m feeling Kai as flash? Kinda brash in his youth, but mellowed out with age and able to make nice with people he once snapped at (look s1 Kai was ready to fight any and every ninja. And also Wu lowkey). Obviously none of these characters match 1:1 but if we fiddle with the storylines according to characterizations, use the spidey setting and story themes as a backdrop to blend ninjago family themes, I can see Kai taking the role of flash.

I’m thinking— AND HEAR ME OUT— Jay as MJ. YES it’s bc he hosted the tv show that one time and had a cult following in prime empire. And yes that does make Nya Peter. Look, one of those siblings was always gonna end up as Peter bc of the anger, but I think Jaya is sweet and Nya could NOT pull off flash. Plus it reframes the flash/Peter dynamic as more of a sibling rivalry rather than a bully.

And since we need someone else let’s add a little mcu spice and pull Ned into CBG. Cole can be Ned bc I truly cannot see Cole as any of the others. At least Ned has a similar kindness, and later seasons Cole has a tendency to say offhand things that somewhat match Ned in my head.

This switches the dynamics up a bit. Kai did a lot of outdoor fieldwork like their dad and Nya took up babysitting for cash when she was 14 bc she thought she’d still have enough downtime to work on her projects. Instead she gets bratty kid Lloyd who’s like ten and isn’t allowed to do anything bc of his dad’s corporate empire. Whatever. He thinks she’s the coolest. At school, kai hangs out with Zane and cole bc they’re good at tempering him. Bc of this, they’re at nya and Kai’s house often so nya knows them pretty well. She meets Jay who’s an AWFUL flirt and starts bringing him around. One time she runs into her brother and his friends while she’s babysitting Lloyd. Zane especially thinks lloyd is neat (Kai thinks he’s a little punk) and suggests they get something at a nearby cafe. Holy shit Jay works there. He gets off his shift and hangs out with everyone else, just sort of generally having a good time. it’s one of the best memories Lloyd has and he decides right then that he wants to own a coffee shop or cafe or something so he can own this kind of atmosphere. From there it all spirals into tragedy but y’know. Ninja never quit/Spider-Man always gets back up

Jay and sora would have the best mentor/mentee relationship. She makes him custom cat ear headphones so they match. Jay would be the coolest uncle ever... minus the war crimes

They are like complete opposites and sora would probably rhink Jay is kind of cringe tbh but they would bond over tech and doing tech stuff the analog way..... like the way jays inventions are always so involved and you can see the gears and duct tape. How he's like his own personal battery. And how sora still prefers to take the time to build stuff The Hard Way even though he elemental power litterally can let her make technology with a snap of her fingers

They would be good foils!!! Because jays a jack of all trades master of none, he picks stuff up really easy! Meanwhile sora has One Thing she's good at and has trouble picking up new skills..

I’m upset so I’m gonna rant for a while

You guys need to know that Cole is my favorite character in Ninjago. He’s funny, can be relatable at some times, and is probably the nicest person on the show

My only problem with being a Cole fan is that we don’t really get much from him if that makes sense

Like in season one the only things that happen to him is he gets hypnotized by the serpentine and he comes out to his dad for being a ninja

Season 2 he does the exact same thing as everyone else. Sure he’s the first one (besides Nya) to turn evil but that’s for 3 seconds of screen time and it gets reversed

To be fair though it’s the same with Jay and Zane (I mean some people believe that Zane was just an animation error but I like to believe he turned evil tbh)

Season 3 had the stupid-ass love triangle that I will not be talking about because this already long-ass rant will become a fucking essay

Season 4 he was the first ninja to get kicked out of the tournament. Do you guys sense a pattern?

It feels like he’s always the last one picked for stuff. He’s the first one to turn evil, or to get kicked off the team. Or he’s shoved into an awkward love triangle where he doesn’t even like the girl in question.

What I’m trying to say is that he’s always the afterthought of the earlier seasons

In season 5 they kill him off

I guarantee this is because they didn’t know what else to do with him

Kai had the thing with Lloyd. Jay and Zane had that funny bit where Zane’s voice box broke and Jay couldn’t fix it right. Nya was training to be the water ninja. Lloyd was the villain of the season (technically not but who cares)

What does Cole get to do?

Oh yeah!

He fucking dies

Season 6 he does nothing except find out he can turn invisible and fly, only to end up only using the invisibility powers only once and then they’re never mentioned again

He gets stranded on the island with Nya and Lloyd and has that really awkward sexist line

“I dunno, because it takes a lot of paint to make em look good?” 💀

Then he gets kicked out of the plot while it focuses on Jay (not complaining, I love this season and the characterization of Jay),until he gets sucked into the soul sword. He gets out of the sword, then fucking dies again

He cries at Nya’s death and then time is reversed and he has one extra line that’s canon during this whole season

Day of the Departed

Lord have mercy

It’s supposed to be based around him. And the writers fucked that up.

The whole point of this special was to be centered around Cole, and they make it about the other ninja because he’s an afterthought

But whatever. He defeats the bad guy through the power of friendship after being chained up the whole 40 minutes and then turns back into a human with the coolest scar ever

Season 7, the only thing noteworthy is that this is the only season he has his scar be shown when he’s not using his powers. Besides that, he does absolutely nothing except for shout out Kai’s name when he gets sucked into the portal (fruity ass)

Season 8 is where he finally does something plot relevant instead of fucking dying or turning evil

He becomes a dad for baby Wu and that’s his role throughout most the season, besides being kidnapped after singing worse than my dad in the shower

Season 9. I don’t care that people call it a “Wu season”. This could be classified as a Cole season with how much stuff he gets to do. He’s still Wu’s adoptive dad, he’s the main guy who comes up with the plans, and he’s Rocky Dangerbuff, making this season 100% a Cole season/j

Season 10…

This is where my main argument comes back

Cole got too much stuff to do in seasons 8-9, so what do the writers do?

Why they yeet him off the destiny’s bounty of course!

This is my problem. The writers barely give him anything to do. He finally gets a few seasons where he’s able to be more than just a mannequin, and he gets kicked off the boat

Of course he survives this, because we can’t kill off a main character, we’ve got legos to sell!

(Even though they do this with Zane a million times but that’s a conversation for another day)

And even after that amazing scene where Cole falls off, there’s no reunion between the ninja. They’re just happy he’s alive, thrown his scythe, and after the tornado of friendship, Lloyd fucking dies and it’s focused on him again

I love you Lloyd but the writers are so fucking obsessed with you

He's the whole reason why I got into GOBB

Big giant ramble about my history with GOBB, and how I got into it, and also talking about Bittergiggle under the cut

Originally I hated GOBB due to all the stuff i've heard about it. Such as it being low quality, the game being a cash grab, being a ripoff of Poppy Playtime, and among other drama. And because of those reasons I completely ignored the series for a long time.

That is until I heard that the 7th game was actually good?? And a certain Youtuber actually voices a character in it?? (uhyeah)

So i decided to watch Jay from the Kubz Scouts play the whole series and it was... Certainly something to behold. Once I got to the 4th game, a certain character caught my interest, that character being Bittergiggle of course!

I immediately noticed that his voice acting is like, REALLY good compared to the other characters! Toadster and Bouncelia have good voice acting too, but Bittergiggle's just stuck out to me. He stole the show whenever he was on screen!

I just really like his character too. His whole entire purpose is to entertain others and make people laugh, but he was cast out cuz he couldn't do that anymore, due to Sir Dadadoo and the Naughty Ones being sealed inside Queen Bouncelia's pouch.

He couldn't fulfil his purpose anymore, his whole entire reason for existing... And that made him go mad. He eventually couldn't take it anymore, and he did something selfish. He made the Queen laugh, despite knowing the consequences, putting everyone's life in danger in the process.

By the next game, he regrets what he did, and wants to make up for it. Now, instead of chasing us, or locking us in a room, he helps us, even risking his life to save us from Dadadoo.

But then, he did what he did at the end of the game, became Naughtified, then had a pretty cool chase sequence in the 7th game, then immediately got killed off afterwards...

I did like how they did Bittergiggle's death though. He's the one always telling jokes to others, but no one ever told him a joke. So he asks Sheriff Toadster to tell him one, he does, Bittergiggle doesn't get it at first, but when he does, he weakly laughs until he...

Like I said before, I like how they did Bittergiggle's last moments, but like... Did they really hafta kill him off? I feel like they coulda done so much more with his character. I mean, he's the one who unleashed Dadadoo and the Naughty Ones. So shouldn't he be there to right his wrong?

I dunno...
